A perfect little snack to keep the littles happy and occupied at your Thanksgiving gathering. This is my version of an individual mini turkey charcuterie board.
How to make a mini charcuterie board
I was thinking about what to assemble and serve this charcuterie on and decided to look for ideas at the dollar store. It would be nice to find something similar to a cutting board but smaller and probably not just a plate but that would work just fine. I checked out the party section first and found a few possibilities in plastic plates but like I said it’d be nice to get something besides plates. I looked through the seasonal decor sections and craft isles before heading to the kitchen section and lo and behold I ended up finding the perfect option! The bamboo cutting boards they carry are pretty small and work out to be the perfect size.

Ingredients
This is what I used for this charcuterie board but feel free to substitute with your favorites. I wanted to keep it simple since this is for kids.
- crackers
- salami
- cucumbers
- carrots
- grapes
- black olives
- cheese cubes
- 1 cheese slice
How to assemble the charcuterie board
I started by laying out crackers and then adding salami, cucumbers, carrots, cheese, grapes and then black olives. I can just see little fingers with the black olives on them! 🙂 To make the turkey body and facial features I cut a small circle and kind of an oblong oval shape out of a piece of provolone cheese. Swiss, cheddar or your favorite sliced cheese would work just as good – I just used what I had on hand. Cut small pieces of black olives for eyes and a small piece of carrot for the gobbler.

This is such a fun kid size appetizer to have on hand at Thanksgiving and the inexpensive cutting boards are perfect for it. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving and let me know if you make these for your gathering!
